To Life

“I came that you might have life…” John 10:10

You are going to die! This side of Jesus’ return we are all going to die! The writer of Hebrews makes it clear. “It is appointed for a man to die once, and after this comes the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27

Most people seem to fear death. For others the thought of death brings joy. The Apostle Paul would write, “for to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 2:21

What makes the difference in our attitude towards death? Jesus, the “resurrection and the life.” In Jesus I find it’s not about the number of days in my life, but about the life in my days. One hundred years without Jesus is no life at all. But with Jesus every moment is a walk in eternity. This is the great hope and joy of Easter… In Christ, nothing is ever really dead!
