The Story – Begins January 6th, at HCC
“From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2
Part of the problem with life for so many people is the way they see the problem. They need to step back or step up and see life from a different perspective. This is what David does in Psalm 61, he is climbing the rock so he can see his situation from God’s point of view. By the end of the Psalm David has moved from tears to praise. This is what God’s Word offers us today — The opportunity to climb higher and see the world, our lives, our trials, from God’s point of view. This is our goal at HCC; that over the next eight months we could all learn to see life from God’s view. As we journey together through The Bible (The Story), we want to connect our life, our personal stories, with God’s story. We want to see as He sees, and encourage one another to live as He longs for us to live. Our journey beings January 6th. If you have not already purchased a copy of The Story a few copies are still available at the Welcome Center for $5.00. Buy a copy for a friend and invite them to join you for the climb. We are heading up The Rock that is “higher than I.”
See you on The Rock!
In His love,
***The Story is an abridged chronological Bible in the NIV text. There are no verse references in the text, and the segments of scripture are woven together with transition text written to connect the storyline so it reads like a seamless story.
***The Story is divided into 31 chapters. Each week Pastor Kurt will preach on the events covered in the corresponding chapter, with the opportunity to dig deeper and apply the lessons in Sunday School and our Wednesday Night Small Groups.
