We would like to thank God for keeping us safe and allowing us to spread his love with others.

Would also like to thank members of HCC for supporting us on our journey, and to Alan and Justin Bruster who made detailed touch ups on the site and kept it updated when we were not able to. Thanks again and God bless!!!!!

Day 4, Wednesday July 16th

Finally we drew our distance and time out of a hat (North, 1 hour) DESTINATION - Pawhuska, OK

This morning we all woke up to the birds chirping, water rushing, and John yelling "GET UP!! We gotta get a move on!" We all got up and scurried around camp to get our bags packed and tents taken down. Chris, the assistant camp director, was gracious enough to have his staff make extra food for breakfast. He then prepared a morning devotional especially for us. After our devotional we went back to camp, drew from our hat, finished packing, and hit the road running. Before we left town we stopped for gas. While in the gas station we over heard a man talking about how he needed to make a doctors appointment but did not have sufficient funds. We decided to help him with that. Further proof that God provides, huh?

As we left town to head North for an hour we passed the VFW which we had heard was in need of funds to fix the van that their Patriot Guard uses for travel. We stopped and donated money for that. We drove part of our hour and ended up in Cleveland, Oklahoma due to our trailer hitch breaking. We stopped at the city park there and picked up trash while our handy men (Ok, so it was just our sponsors) fixed the trailer. Once we got everything fixed we hit the road again. Finally we ended up in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Again we were Drawn to another large U.S. flag (even larger than the previous day)Then we grabbed some lunch and stopped by a soup kitchen at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. We donated some food and a little money then we were on our way again. Our final stop of the trip was by a Presbyterian Church where the organization Hearts and Hands is located. We donated a case of bibles to this active organization, prayed and loaded up one last time. Only this time our destination was known. Haysville Kansas. God provides!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 3, Tuesday July 15th

Once again we drew our distance and time out of a hat (east, 1 hour) DESTINATION - Mannford, OK

When we first arrived we were drawn to large U.S. flag. We had to see were the flag would lead us. It led us to the local police department. They gave us a few few tips on where to serve. Our first stop was in a neighborhood which had recently experienced a lot of ice and hail damage. No one we spoke to needed any assistance, however we need met some very kind and receptive people. Ace was a man we spoke to who was a believer and told us he firmly believed that everything he had was not his but was God's and we was allowed to take care of it. Hazel Beaird (MeeMa), a 80 year old woman who didn't look a day over 60, was also a believer who we met while she was helping other people.

After picking up trash on one of the main roads in the neighborhood we got some lunch and we were told to try a camp on the outside of town. We then ventured to to Camp Victory where we met Chris, the assistant camp director. He prayed with us for guidance from God to see if we should help at the camp or find another needy neighborhood. We all sensed God was wanting us to stay. The camp had recently gotten a lot of severe flooding. We helped clean up a lot of drift wood and limbs that had washed up in very popular areas of the camp. Brian and Stacy Bias also gave us the privilege of staying at the camp. So again we pitched tents and had dinner with some of the staff. They also took us on a night walk and took us to their Zipline (lots of fun). After getting back from the fun we noticed we had a visitor at our camp spot while we were away. A raccoon had gotten into a loaf of bread we had in the trailer (note to self - keep food put away or covered!). Good night.

Day 2, Monday July 14th

We drew our distance and time out of a hat (south, 2 hours) DESTINATION - Stillwater, OK

a lovely wake up song and cleaning up camp we set out for Stillwater Oklahoma. Once here we prayed and were given our driving directions straight from God himself. He lead us to the Stillwater Community Center (we would like to give a great deal of thanks to Stephanie the secretary, and John Wright), where it was suggested that we clean up the litter of a well known park. Once there we not only picked up trash but also had the chance to hand out a few bibles and pray with members of the community. After leaving there we were lead to the First Christian Church where they were having their Power Lab VBS (coincidence?? I think Not!!) We decided to lend whatever services we could. Some of us help with crafts while others made snacks and helped run games. After a fun filled evening we were recognized and thanked by all of the children and staff. They then offered us ample sleeping arrangment options. (Thank you so much Kimber, Sondra, and Shannon. Also a huge thanks to Owen for helping us get connected to the world wide web, and Rick the associate minister.) We are now going to get some dinner and crash. Stayed tuned for more updates as God provides.

Day 1, Sunday July 13th

We drew our distance and time out of a hat (east, 30 min.) DESTINATION - Rose Hill, KS

Once we arrived in Rose Hill we stopped and prayed at a red cross mobile donation center. We then proceeded to take a prayer walk around the community to get an idea of what God had sent us here to do. We prayed with community members, then as a group. After much prayer and driving around we bought water and went to the ball diamonds to distribute free water and pray in the name of the Lord. We then stopped at the fire department to ask if they knew of any needs in the community. They told us to check with the churches in the neighborhood. We were then led to the Rose Hill Bible Church where we were offered a place to camp and an opportunity to have dinner and worship with another youth group. Before dinner and worship we had the opportunity to meet with two different families who had just recently lost loved ones. Two of the children who attened our worship service belonged to one of those families. ( They are pictured below. These two children are two of five children who just recently lost their mother and are now living with their granmother just down the road form the church.). After dinner and worship service we decided to set up camp. Goodnight and we will see you tomorrow for another update (God willing). :)
