The choir ministry’s goal is to worship and glorify God through singing. To present a message through song, to try and reach the lost and to convey God’s love for each of us. The choir meets for practice on Sunday evenings from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary. We gather from September –December to work on a Christmas cantata and January –April to work on an Easter cantata. Child care is provided. Anyone who enjoys singing is encouraged to join the choir. No experience necessary just a desire to praise the Lord.
Worship Ministry
The Worship Ministry consists of a Praise team and Praise Band. The function of the Worship Ministry is to work with the Pastor to plan the weekly Worship services, which include Wednesday night (during the school year) and Sunday morning. It can also include any special service that might take place at the church during the year such as Easter or Thanksgiving Community Services that could be held at Haysville Christian Church. The Praise Team and Praise Band consist of people who are willing to not only sing or play an instrument but to put time into practicing. We practice once a week (Sunday nights from 5:30 to 6:30.) There are also times when we practice extra when needing to make sure we have the music just right. The goal of the ministry is to not just plan the service but to pray for the service and the people attending and to keep God the focal point during the Worship service. The Praise Band is in need of a guitarist and we are always looking for those who are interested in singing on the Praise Team. We only ask that you visit a practice for a tryout.
Drama Ministry
The Drama Ministry involves people who help present skits during Worship services and at other times as needed. This ministry helps communicate the message of the Gospel in a variety of ways that reach all ages of people. Additional participants are always needed to serve as actors, help with props and stage settings.
Greeting Ministry
This ministry was established to help give the church a human element at the initial contact of visitors. The goal is to make the very warmest first impression of Haysville Christian Church and to make the visitor feel welcome and comfortable. There is a guest book in both foyers for visitors to sign. Greeters will direct visitors to classrooms, nursery, and sanctuary. They will also answer any questions they can or direct you to someone who can help you. The greeters meet only as the need arises. We currently have approximately 16 greeters who take monthly turns at welcoming newcomers. This is an evolving ministry, the only requirements are the willingness to be pleasant and assist guests as they come to HCC. We always welcome those who wish to be a greeter.
Verse of The Day
“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.” (Deuteronomy 7:9)
